Title: Blinds (2026)
Material: Scott Magic Tape 19mm x 33m & Tesa Film Clear Recycled 19mm x 33m
Meyke Mulder works site-specifically, responding directly to the architecture and atmosphere of each exhibition space.
For the Sigarenfabriek, she was immediately drawn to the building’s windows — some covered with film, others left open — and the shifting ways they mediate visibility.
Working with this condition, she intervenes directly on the glass, creating drawings with different types of tape.
Blinds serve as a subtle reference point: they define what can be seen, or withheld from view.
The work shifts depending on angle and distance. Light and shadow extend the drawings into the surrounding space, allowing them to interact with other works in the exhibition.
But are you looking at the window or through it?
